The Island is part of the Single House Zone within the Auckland Council Unitary plan. This means one dwelling per section (no duplex / no terrace housing). You can build to a maximum 2 storey. There are also land covenants in place to make sure the quality of the home is as expected for the island. All home designs and landscape designs need the Developers approval prior to lodgement with Council. This is to safe-guard all owners on the Island.
As the Island is a private Island, a Resident Society has been formed to manage the assets on the island that is not owned by section owners. These include The gate at the entrance / security system on the Island / maintenance of Roads / reserves etc.. There is a fee of approx. $1,500 inc GST per year for maintaining all these items.
